OYO Hotel Montes, Atlixco

Please make sure the mattresses are free of bedbugs before sleeping here. We saw a small bug in the morning but didn't think much of it. By the afternoon, after we'd left, both of us had noticed at least 30-40 bites. The room looked clean. We've notified the owner by email about bedbugs in room 103.

The hotel was cheap, but the rooms were very dirty and the sheets looked filthy. The bathroom was worse, so I went out and bought cleaning supplies to clean it myself. They couldn't clean until the next day.

Don't go. I booked through Booking at 193 mpx, but when I arrived they said all the online rates were wrong and that they didn't use the site, then wanted me to pay 600 mpx. I had endless back and forth with Booking and got nowhere. In more than 10 years of using Booking, I'd never had anything like this happen.

The location is good for walking to the center, and I think the service is good, but the noise made it impossible to rest. There was an excessively loud bell, like one announcing school recess. Hearing it at 2 in the morning while asleep was horrible. Employees receiving guests at that hour yelled instead of lowering their voices, and when they brought in a truck, they shouted instructions. There was excessive noise at 11:30 at night, after 3 in the morning, and around 6. They should change the bell sound and ask employees not to yell and disturb guests. That's why I give it two stars.
