Blue Palm Bacalar

Getting to Zocalo was an easy, safe ten-minute walk, and the reception staff were friendly and arranged a tour that turned out great. The hotel is adult-only, so I’d recommend it without kids. Rooms are roomy and nicely designed, with a private hammock, and the pool is wonderful, especially the hammocks in the water. Breakfast was generous and delicious. They also provide separate pool towels and free bike rentals. A few things could be better: the shower had low pressure and didn’t get very warm, the toilet sometimes wouldn’t flush properly, and the room Wi-Fi was unreliable.

There’s also a fabulous restaurant on site. Each morning they made us breakfast fresh, with fruit and fresh fruit juice. The owner personally checked that we were happy and that things stayed quiet. The people were absolutely wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for more, and highly recommend it.

We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the food was excellent, just like breakfast each day. The grounds were immaculate, and our room was cute and clean. The staff really went out of their way for us. We stayed two nights at Blue Palm and everything was perfect. I highly recommend it, and we’ll be back.

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant team. There’s nothing bad I can say about the place. The lagoon is a six-minute walk away, and restaurants and little shops are less than a minute from the hotel. If I come back to bacalar, I’ll definitely stay here again.
