Mas Basico Hotel

We’re a US family based in Puebla, and after a few trips to Veracruz we’d never found lodging we liked, whether in the historic center, at a chain hotel, or through AirBnB. +Basico is where we’ll stay from now on. We visited in July 2024 and really liked the clean pool, tasty food, and friendly staff who were flexible with us. In the humid weather, I especially appreciated that our room had no bad smells at all. So many hotels on the costa smell of mold, old cigarettes, or sweat, but not +Basico. There seemed to be different room sizes, parking felt safe, and it was easy to get by car or taxi to shops, restaurants, and the beach. Having good food on site was a bonus after a long beach day. It exceeded my expectations and was great value. I loved +Basico, and I’m still glad I came back to write a positive review because their customer service and facilities deserve the credit. Can’t wait to return!

A clean, simple place with rooms, a pool, and a restaurant, close to the beach and good value.

The staff have been so attentive and nice. The little restaurant on site is both tasty and inexpensive, and the sunny pool was clean. The rooms are spacious, tidy, and even prettier in person than in the online photos. It’s incredibly affordable without giving up quality, and everything feels well thought out. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Veracruz.

I had a really enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Veracruz :)
