Hotel Maculís

The location is nice, but the facilities were in poor shape. Our room smelled strongly of damp, and I immediately started feeling allergy symptoms. It needs some maintenance, including repainting and repairs, and there was no hot water at all.

The staff at the Maculis were exceptional, with great suggestions about what to do, where to go, and especially where to eat. We had a clean, comfortable ground-floor room, #7. It was quiet, and the shutters made it nice and dark. There are comfortable chairs on the pool patio, good for coffee or a beer in the evening, and a foyer minibar with a limited choice of adult drinks. The shared kitchen was a nice touch for me since I get up way too early and want coffee soon. You can help yourself without bothering anyone. It was instant coffee, though there was also a hotel room sized coffee maker in the room. A pleasant surprise, and we think you won't be disappointed if you stay here. Thanks Maculis.

The lobby has a really magical smell, and we were very happy with both the hotel and the service. The backyard and pool were great too. Guests can use the kitchen at no extra cost, with a refrigerator, boiled water, sugar, coffee, tea, milk, and bread. There was also plenty of free parking on nearby streets.

We found it a happy, relaxing place, a little outside Campeche's inner city. The small patio pool is lovely, and the building is very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome. The little kitchen made it easy to put together breakfast and an evening snack. We'd definitely recommend it.
