We had a very pleasant, unusual experience in Campeche. The setting was gorgeous, an old house decorated beautifully, and the chef and staff were all very nice and friendly. Our seven courses included lobster, scallops, cheeses, steak, pheasant, and two desserts. They had various drinks and wines by the glass or bottle. Great service throughout.

The decor was gorgeous and the staff were so friendly. We called ahead to say our group was vegetarian and shared a fairly long list of foods we didn't like. They put together a fantastic seven-course meal that fit our needs exactly. Phenomenal.

The house itself is worth seeing, with furniture and decor that mix French-inspired pieces and regional antiques so beautifully. We had an unforgettable meal there. The macaroons with xcatic chilis were amazing, and the veal Wellington was the best I've ever had. There was also soft crab with black recado, unusual and delicious, followed by financiers, caramelized oranges, and chocolate mousse.

Casa De Los Murmillos was on our Campeche bucket list for its special dining experience, and it exceeded what we expected. The restaurant is in a house in the historic center; chef Patrick Cros welcomed us at the door, friendly and professional, and the atmosphere was cozy. The seven-course menu brought plenty of culinary surprises and delicious flavors. We also had their wine pairing, which took us from Mexican white and red wines to French red wine with the lamb main course, then liqueur and coffee to finish. The price for the menu and pairing felt well worth it. They deserve the reputation they've built over the years. Our thanks to Patrick Clos and the team. Highly recommended!

Dining here is one of Campeche's best-kept secrets. The meal is fabulous, on a level with the best in the world, and worth a trip to the walled city all by itself.
