Hotel Plaza Colonial

The beds had no mattress pads, and there was just one thin blanket. It wasn’t enough to keep me warm on a chilly night. When I called the front desk to ask for another couple of blankets, they said, “We don't have any extra blankets.” What kind of hotel has no spare blankets? Even a motel 6 would have some so guests don’t get cold. Poor room quality and service summed up the stay. Ordering tea took the waiter three trips, and he forgot something each time. We ended up with cold tea and no sugar because he never brought it back, and we paid too much since he also didn’t return with our change. The double room had only two outlets, so we couldn’t charge our phones and use the computer at the same time. There was no fridge. The safe was locked when we arrived, and nobody came to open it for us. The sink faucet and tub shower looked scaly and unclean, and there was a constant loud humming from some machinery, even when our own air conditioner was off.

The lobby is nice and the staff are wonderful. I booked because they have bathtubs, since I don’t have one at home. But the sheets aren’t fitted, so they come loose as soon as you get into bed, and the curtains could use a wash.

I’ve stayed here several times, and I love everything about this hotel!

We were told our reservation could be changed if booking.com released the payment. booking.com did its part, but the hotel management still refused to change or refund the booking. That left us paying extra for a night we didn’t stay, and the whole experience was very unpleasant.
