The staff were friendly, though we hardly interacted with them. The hot water was nice, but we left two days before we were supposed to. I'd call this more of a hostel than a hotel. The room was an okay size, but the beds were in horrible condition, with the mattress nearly hanging over the edges. They were very uncomfortable, and noisy water pipes in the closet made it hard to sleep.

This is a beautiful historic building, probably from the early 18th century, and staying inside its walls and walking its floors felt special. If you like history and architecture, it's a must, even though it isn't especially luxurious. The hotel is in Campeche's walled old town, an easy walk from most sights and just 100 metres from the cathedral. My room was clean, with AC and a comfy bed. There's a small semi outdoor pool and a fridge in the main lobby if you need to keep milk or something cold. The desk is staffed all night and can call a cab driver they know. That was very convenient after I returned my rental and needed to get to the Train Maya station.

Our bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice high ceiling. The hotel is a historic building more than 300 years old, with a nice lobby and pool, and it's near independence square. There were some issues in our room: a few lights didn't work, one power outlet was loose, and there was one big stair to get into the bathroom.

The location is great, but the customer service was about as bad as it could get. The older gentleman at the counter gave no greeting, just stared blankly until I spoke. He put the key on the counter without even pointing out where the room was. Inside, the door couldn't be locked from the inside. Lead based paint seemed to be peeling from every surface, the toilet seat had stains like it hadn't been cleaned properly, and the towels were stained as if they'd been used to clean floors. There was no warm water. The place is an absolute dump, and yes, it's haunted as the reviews say. I'd rather put a thermometer in my urethra and smash it with a hammer than deal with that terrible service and nasty hotel. Zero stars if I could.

The location is excellent, just off independence square, with an oxxo store and banks nearby. It's also a short walk to the Macelon. This is a very old building with loads of character. The finish is a bit rustic, which is understandable for a building hundreds of years old. I liked this hotel.
