When February is cold and you're trudging through slush, you can picture a peaceful, quiet place in a perfect spot beside the lake. This is that place. I only stayed two days, but this welcoming, inexpensive getaway will come to mind whenever I'm feeling down.

We spent Christmas here and had a wonderful time. The lake view from our room was stunning, with countless birds, and sunrise was worth getting up early for. It’s far from town, which makes it a lovely retreat. The family who runs this more homestay-like place were so kind and friendly. Grandma cooked amazing Mexican food, Grandpa made tasty wine, and they even invited us to their family Christmas dinner. You can borrow their boat, too!

It’s a rural tourism place with a great view and a really quiet atmosphere. The family who runs it is very kind. It’s cheap, and they offer relaxing massages.
