I had a good meal here, and there’s plenty to choose from, including local and international dishes. We tried the hamburger, chicken soup, garlic mushrooms, stuffed fish, and club sandwich, and everything tasted great. Their cocktail list is big too. I liked both the piña colada and sangria, and the servings were a good size. This review is about the restaurant inside the hotel. The view is lovely, with the lake, fishermen, and local wildlife in sight, and the pool is right there too. The service was great.

The location and views are amazing, and the staff were very friendly. Still, the hotel feels dated now and needs upgrades and maintenance. It must have been wonderful in its day. There are no screens on the patio, and bugs got into our room, so we couldn’t sleep with the windows open. The old air conditioner was very noisy, and that kept us awake too.

The staff were very helpful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. The rooms felt really dated, and there were only two outlets in the room, plus one in the bathroom. The outside looked beautiful, with a nice pool and bar area, and the restaurant had a good setting. The food there, though, wasn’t anything special.

The location is spectacular, and there’s a lot to like about the facilities. The pool design is especially great for families with kids. Staff were friendly overall, and our room was nice and clean. The air conditioner was extremely noisy, and some of the bedding could use replacing. A coffee maker and water in the room would have added a lot. It’s pretty expensive for what you get, though the location is hard to beat.

The rooms are clean and cosy, but they need major repairs. Even the door handles came apart when we opened the doors. Still, the spot on the beach in magical Catemaco is reason enough for me to recommend the hotel to visitors. We had a perfect sunrise!
