Everything kept going wrong, it felt like staying in a prank hotel. The cable didn’t work, and the smoke alarm batteries were dead, so it woke us at 4 a.m. with beeping. The power kept cutting in and out, and the mini split stopped working for a couple of hours, leaving us in a hot cabin after we’d hiked up the rock. They didn’t offer any discount and blamed it on “general problems,” which makes me wonder if this happens regularly. Horrible, and not worth the price. Avoid at all costs.

Albero, the manager, went above and beyond. Breakfast from his kitchen was fresh and authentic, and he was hands-on. When he anticipated a somewhat cold, rainy morning, he went out to get to-go boxes for those of us who couldn’t bear the morning cold. Words can’t tell the whole story. Zidada is a gem, a world-class stay and a best-kept secret. Bernal has so much tranquility, great hospitality, service, and food. Zidada fits right in with the very best people. In my mind, it compares favorably with other places of the same kind. This was an amazing place.

The grounds are extremely well kept, with tons of gorgeous plants and trees, and the breakfast coffee is top notch. Expect a language barrier in central Mexico, but if you know a little, the staff will do whatever they can to make your stay amazing. The room was exactly as advertised, though not all the rooms are the same, so check carefully when choosing. The people who complained didn’t do that, even though all the rooms still look very nice. I added a video of our room. This place is gorgeous.

We stayed in a Junior Chalet with a garden view, and it was impeccably clean, with huge windows looking out over the manicured gardens. The bed was firm and really comfortable, and the service was very good. After our hike up the rock, the manager gave us a little extra time past checkout so we could shower. We absolutely loved our overnight stay at Zidada Hotel and Chalets. Highly recommend.

The staff were nice, and even went to the store for us. There are outdoor grills to use, and each room or building has its own outdoor table, chairs, and area. It’s only a short five-minute walk to the plaza. We loved our one-night stay. The room felt like a cabin but had hotel-level comfort, and the bed was just right, firm but soft at the same time. I slept beautifully. Breakfast was enjoyable, though people who aren’t Mexican might not be keen on fried cheese tacos at 8 a.m.
