Gael Condesa - Hostel

The rooftop deck was my favorite spot to spend the day when I didn't feel like exploring the city. The bunk curtains were a nice bit of privacy, and the communal vibe was strong. After staying at lots of hostels on my travels, I can say this one feels just right for Mexico City: clean, in a cool neighborhood to walk around, and I'll definitely come back.

The hostel is small, so it feels a bit like living with a big family. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was good, and the beds were the nicest I've had in a hostel. I especially liked hanging out on the rooftop and having chats. I'd read bad things about the shower, but it's been changed and is really good now. I'd definitely recommend Gael Hostel to backpackers after a fun, relaxed, social stay.

Great location and price, nice rooms, and a cool rooftop. There's always free coffee too. The only small snag was sharing one toilet among 12 other beds.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, and a big supermarket is less than a 10-minute walk away. I met many lovely people while staying at Gael, and liked its friendly energy, free breakfast, safe location, and welcoming staff. The bunks creaked in both beds I used, so bring earplugs.
