Hotel Stanza

I got there early and they still let me into my room, which I really appreciated. Check-in was quick, and the staff were both professional and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and modern, and the hotel's in a very handy part of the Roma area. A smooth, pleasant stay. I'd pick it again.

The hotel has since posted a response claiming 300 Mps, but take that with a grain of salt. The manager told me today that 10 Mps was reasonable for free WiFi and didn't mention an upgrade. I also saw that response while I'm still staying here, without anyone contacting me directly. Even at its best, the connection only reached 10Mbs and usually topped out around 7, speeds from 15 years ago. Worse, both of us repeatedly lost connection, roughly every half hour, and sometimes tests showed less than 1Mps. Completely dysfunctional. We reported it several times, but the hotel couldn't fix it. Don't stay here if you need internet.

Breakfast buffet wasn't worth the price, in my opinion, and the service was only so-so. Staff weren't much help with recommendations. The rooms themselves are nice, though the hallway can get a little loud. The location is fine, on the east edge of Roma Nte. Internet worked for me, but ask for a room with a good connection. The windows can be locked by pushing the latch upward a little. They also arranged a good taxi ride to the airport for $250 pesos.

The location was a real plus, beside a park and only a few blocks from the metro, with lots of restaurants close by. Our bed was comfy, the TV worked, and the safe was secured in place and functioned. The hotel was just okay overall, a bit dated and with no fridge. The bathroom was small but clean. One thing to check right away: the windows in both our room and our travel companion's room were unlocked. It felt almost deliberate, though we weren't carrying valuables, so we worried less. And the towel was ridiculous, even for a place like this.
