Casa Tabachin

The restaurant was a highlight for us. Breakfast was generous and delicious, and even though I’m not usually a breakfast person, I ate there every day. Dinner was memorable too. Jose-Manuel, the young chef, made dishes with impressive skill and precision. We tried his steak, fish, and Mexican dishes, all excellent, and saved our last evening’s meal for the hotel because we wanted his cooking again. The service throughout our stay was among the best we’ve had. Gonzalo, the General Manager, seemed to be everywhere, from the front desk and restaurant to the kitchen, pool, and helping the staff. He’s a chef too, and personally cooked and served breakfast, turned on the pool heating for our early evening swim, and carried our suitcases to the taxi when we left. We’ll miss him. The whole team at Tabachin made this a memorable stay, and Cuernavaca visitors won’t be disappointed by this little oasis. We travel all over the world, and this was one of our best boutique hotel stays. The service matched or beat some 5-star hotels. The hotel is new, and everything, from our room to the public areas, was immaculate. We had a spacious Junior Suite with an in-room jacuzzi. The cleaning staff worked incredibly hard, constantly cleaning rooms and pool areas. Everyone was friendly and honest. We’d left some valuables outside the small safe, but nothing was touched while the room was being cleaned. The large outdoor pool is heated and fits several swimmers. We also had a couples massage that was amazing. The masseuses were so skilled that I told them it was better than massages I’d had at some 5-star places in other countries.
