Hotel Mary

The restaurant by the entrance serves good food, and the customer service was mostly good. One interaction with a waiter brought my rating down from what would have been five stars to four, though I nearly gave it three. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, but it arrived too spicy, and nobody had mentioned that beforehand. When I asked to exchange it for a mild one, the waiter refused and said I should have asked for that when ordering. I explained that the menu didn’t say it was spicy. He was a man in his late 40s and seemed to be in a bad mood. His service was poor, and when we asked about the menu and food, he answered curtly and irritably. Another waiter came over, and I asked for the supervisor. She said she was the supervisor and was more hospitable, but also said I should have requested a mild cocktail at the start. I explained the menu issue again, and a little later she agreed to bring me one that wasn’t spicy.

The location works well, on one of the town’s main streets near the city park and ATMs. The restaurant is pretty charming and has plenty of food choices. Service was decent, though not great, and the parking lot was alright. I’d lean toward coming for dinner rather than lunch. I can’t say much about the rooms.

There’s secure parking and the staff are excellent. It’s a clean, good hotel about a five-minute walk from Centro, with an excellent restaurant and bar on site.

The price was pretty good. The room was fairly clean, quiet, and cozy, and the location is nice and central.
