Hyatt Place Celaya

Easy to get to, with nice, clean rooms. The staff are friendly and speak several languages. The complimentary breakfast was the best I’ve seen, with local dishes included.

For every visit I make to Celaya, this is my go-to hotel. It has that home-away-from-home feel, and the guest services staff are always friendly and remember my name even when months pass between visits. The rooms are consistently well kept, and the service is pleasant. It’s relatively new and conveniently across from a mall with a movie theater, visible from the even-numbered rooms. Rooms have a flat panel TV, two bottles of purified water, coffee, and tea. There’s also a purified water dispenser by the elevator if you need a refill. For a longer stay, there’s a mini fridge, a medium-sized safe in the closet, and an optional sofa bed. I spend a lot of time in the room since I have a driver who takes me to meetings, meals, and wherever else I want to go. There are stores and restaurants nearby, though I can’t speak to the area’s safety because I’ve never walked around alone. They recently upgraded the toiletries to Yukatan Herbal, which doesn’t leave my hair and skin dried out like after a sandstorm in the Sahara. I didn’t even use the toiletries I always bring to hotels this time. The free breakfast is delicious, with pastries, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, and an omelet station made to order. They use real eggs cracked fresh, not that imitation, plastic or Styrofoam-like fluff. It puts American continental breakfast to shame.

It’s a newer hotel, and everything was clean during my stay. The service was great, and they have everything you might need. Amazing place.

A nice, comfortable place. There’s no room service, so if you want to eat in your room, you have to pick the food up from the restaurant yourself.
