The staff were very friendly and spoke both English and Spanish, which helped. The room was clean, too.

The room and service felt average, and there are probably better choices for the same price. The towels should be replaced, since the white ones looked grey. Sunlight came straight in because the curtains weren't blackout, and there were very few power outlets. The iron's base was scorched, but luckily I checked it before using it and asked for another one.

The rooms were clean and the price was reasonable. It's a nice place to stay, though there are three floors and no elevator.

The room had most things I needed, including a hair dryer, closet, luggage rack, door peephole, and security lock, but no mini fridge. Cable TV was there, though the picture quality was very poor, and the prices seemed higher than average. Before dawn, a group of kids gathered outside my room and woke me with their constant jokes. I chased them away, but they went down to the lobby and kept going like magpies. The watchman was nice and let me into the gym after 8 p.m., though I wish he'd dealt with the kids outside my room so early in the morning. I didn't use the pool, which seemed to be in the lobby, but it looked well kept and fit, if a bit small. The room door opened straight into the bedroom, as is common in Chetumal hotels, and there was a window in the room, like you see in hotel rooms nowadays.
