Four Points By Sheraton Distrito Uno Chihuahua

The receipt for my stay at Four Points by Sheraton came under the name Hotel Ramada Encore, which was confusing and set off bank fraud alerts. It seems the property is using old billing systems under a new brand. I’d booked at $541.29 USD, but at check-in they wouldn’t charge in USD or use the official rate of about 17.00 MXN. Instead, they imposed a “House Rate” of roughly 21.03 MXN per dollar and charged my card 11,382 MXN, almost $125 USD above the price I’d agreed to. I raised the difference with the manager and cited the official DOF rate, but they refused to fix it. It’s a shame a property with potential has damaged its reputation with deceptive billing and administrative incompetence. This isn’t just expensive; it undermines consumer trust. The online price isn’t what you’ll pay here. Book elsewhere unless you’re willing to hand over an extra $100 or more because of predatory exchange rates and messy management.

The location was good, in a safe neighborhood with busy restaurants and plenty of nightlife. But my room was above a nightclub, and the music was so loud I could feel it and couldn’t sleep. Nobody at the front desk spoke English, and I never got my envoy points. It wasn’t a pleasant stay, though I’m loyal to Marriott hotels because they’re usually good.

The room was spotless and the bed was excellent, and the hotel is generally well maintained. But the air conditioning was loud, and breakfast was so poor it wasn’t worth even one star. The location is good, so I’d buy food in the neighborhood instead.

The location is great, and there’s a pool and a bar. Breakfast was decent. The first cleaning lady was tidy and really friendly, which I appreciated, but the second didn’t clean properly. She turned the comforter over instead of replacing it after we got something on it, left us dirty glasses, and didn’t leave washcloths. The shower pressure was weak and kept cutting in and out. I also had to call the front desk to get the air conditioning working properly.
