Hilton Garden Inn Chihuahua

The room was comfortable and clean, and if you get lucky there may be a nice view. The hotel sits inside a mall, so shops, places to eat, and even gambling are right there, with a grocery store only a short walk away. Parking is in a big garage shared with mall visitors, with no section reserved for hotel guests, so it can be awkward when things get busy.

The bed was really comfortable, and the AC worked well and was easy to adjust. Staff were friendly and helpful, and were patient with my broken Spanish or helped in English when I needed more detailed instructions. We had three rooms, and there were a few problems: one shower head was clogged, another room had no hot water, and the walls were thin enough that I was woken by people talking in the room above on two separate nights. The rooftop pool looked beautiful, but we skipped it because it had no heater and was freezing. The hotel is in a nice shopping center, handy for a walk, food, and a little shopping.

We chose this hotel because of the pool, and were staying on a Sunday for that reason. The staff never opened the pool area at 9, so I had to go down twice to remind them. Then we were told there’d been an accident and the pool was closed. We left a day early. I don’t understand why the hotel couldn’t deal with an accident quickly, and the staff weren’t attentive enough for what we’re paying. It’s a shame, since the location is great. We’ll try a different Hilton next time.

Being able to charge my Tesla in the parking lot made the stay really convenient.
