The rooms were good, but I was upset to see the two dogs left without food. The woman ignored them while they cried. When we gave them food, they were so hungry they didn't even chew it. I don't know how long they'd gone without food or water, but please, please feed those dogs.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and let us check in at about 11 pm. They brought toast and coffee to our room for breakfast. Parking is cramped, with only a few spaces. Our shower had blocked pipes, which seems common in Yucatan, and the water was just a tiny, cold trickle.

The staff were kind and helpful, which I appreciated, but this was the most expensive and worst place I stayed in during three weeks in Yucatan. At US$46, the room felt highly overpriced. The air-conditioning was old and noisy, the shower barely dripped, and there was no WiFi reception in the room. The pool had leaves and dirty, milky water. Breakfast was a hard slice of bread with jam and coffee; I had to ask for butter and milk.

Breakfast came with fruit and coffee, and they made an excellent fish dinner at a reasonable price. Our hosts were pleasant and attentive, and the room and bed were comfortable in this simple Mexican village. A good choice if you'd rather stay on the mainland and catch the ferry or a tour from Chiquilla.

We missed the last ferry to Holbox and stumbled on this place by chance. The team welcomed us warmly, helped us out, and even drove us to the ferry the next morning. Our room was very clean and had air conditioning. The included breakfast of fresh fruit, eggs, and coffee was delicious.
