Hotel Urban

The hotel is right in downtown Cholula and the location is great. Parking is secure and spacious, the rooms were clean, and service was brief but good. There’s also an entertainment area with a pool table and foosball. The water was the downside: no hot water at night, then boiling hot in the morning, with no way to regulate it. Still, it’s good, nice, and inexpensive.

There are some useful features here, including parking, an elevator and stairs, a game room, a lobby, and a television. But the shower and sink water were a real problem. When we first tried the hot water, it never came through. We asked downstairs and were told to let the cold water run first, then the hot. In the morning it was extremely hot instead, with no cold water to mix in and no way to adjust it. It’s an okay place to stay if you don’t plan on showering.

Parties in the hotel’s common area were completely disrespectful to other guests. At 4 am, people were shouting and playing loud music while I was trying to sleep. The rooms are cold, too, sometimes up to 10 degrees Celsius colder inside than outside. Hot water is a daily problem, and at this price I’d suggest staying somewhere else. It’s clear the rooms aren’t getting general maintenance. I don’t know who manages the hotel, but they need to get their act together.

I’d recommend it. The location is excellent, and the place is very nice. The facilities look newly renovated, and the furniture and fixtures were clean and in good condition.
