Fiesta Inn and Loft Ciudad del Carmen

Room service was a mess. We were told it would take 30 minutes, but it took over an hour, and they were missing 90% of what we ordered. They only told us about some of the unavailable items 45 minutes after we placed the order. No wine, lime, lemon, pasta, tortillas, cochinita, esquites, or BBQ sauce. Earlier, we’d booked a room with a balcony, but none were available. What’s the point of reserving one? My sweetie smokes a lot, so she kept having to go up to the rooftop. A cleaning lady accidentally knocked and came into the wrong room at 8:30, waking us up. We set the AC to 21°C and woke up freezing, with it at 17°C. We were checking out in a few hours and hoped nothing else would happen. Update: the manager was kind and surprised when I told her what happened. She said if we’d stayed another night, she would have made sure things improved.

We didn’t feel comfortable staying after seeing the condition of the rooms, and now we’re disputing the charge for one night because the hotel won’t refund us. The first room was dirty, with hair and dirt left around, and its shower head was detached from the fixture. After we complained, they showed us another room, but that one also hadn’t been cleaned or sanitized properly. Maintenance throughout the property was very poor. We asked to speak to a manager, but a sales representative was sent instead. We showed him the problems and explained how we felt. This hotel doesn’t meet national standards for room sanitizing. Please don’t stay here. The photos speak for themselves. I wouldn’t even give it one star, but that’s the minimum rating.

The room was huge, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities were good. Our kids loved the pool, and we were glad to have a computer available in the lobby. Breakfast had lots of variety and was fresh. Fiesta Inn Loft made for a great stay, and it felt new and trendy. The kids thought it was fancy.

The rooftop pool and lounge area were great, and the modern rooms were really nice. The AC blew icy cold air, and breakfast was amazing and included. It’s definitely a great hotel in the cuided del Carmen area.
