I was charged one and a half times the rate for half of a 24-hour stay. I pointed out the difference, but the man or woman at the front desk refused to give me a room. I found a great room at Gama Hotel for half of Hotel Colonias' usual rate for a 30-hour stay. I've been an overpaying Hotel Colonial customer for a long time, but avoid Hotel Colonial if you can. One star is too generous.

The medical workshop itself was interesting, but staying there was unbearable. It was over 102 degrees and there was no air conditioning. The beverages were room temperature, and the ice machine dispensed ice with flakes of limescale. It's not a bad hotel, but the conference rooms need maintenance.

The two pools were a nice feature, one for kids and one for adults, and the breakfast place beside the hotel, habaneros, was a hit with me, my wife, and my daughter. The staff were courteous and professional, and when we had a question for the manager, he responded right away. The rooms were clean and the staff really nice. There was no fridge or microwave, and it's not a five-star hotel, but we enjoyed our stay and recommend it. Thanks to everyone there. I'd rate it four stars.

Our family had been coming here for reunions for over 20 years, because the staff used to make us feel welcome, almost like family. The rooms were never the best, but we valued the service. On our last visit, though, the staff were extremely rude and completely unhelpful. If I could give the service zero stars, I would. We definitely won't choose this place for future reunions.
