Hotel Consulado Inn

For the same price, there are better choices nearby. Be careful about booking, because they don't offer refunds. The rooms are dated, and people keep complaining about weak shower pressure and sinks that don't drain properly. There's no extractor fan either, so bathroom smells drift into the room.

The free breakfast was okay, and the location is handy: you can walk to the American Consulate, restaurants, and the bridge. But the hotel is very basic, with no amenities at all: no iron, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, and the beds are hard. I wasn't allowed to cancel any nights or get a refund. They offered me a credit, lol, but I would have left after the first night if I could. For about the same price, I could've booked somewhere better equipped. I wouldn't stay here again.

The reception ladies were friendly and very nice, and having Wi-Fi in the hotel was helpful. They also give rides to the clinic, fingerprinting, and the Consulate interview, which makes this a good option for Consulate appointments. There's a little shop inside for drinks, chips, candy, and a few other things. Manuel, the cashier, is an older gentleman and very nice. My one suggestion for the owners is to put a small fridge in the rooms, especially for people staying a week or longer.

The bathrooms weren't clean, and the rooms hadn't been disinfected. Housekeeping only took out the trash instead of cleaning.
