Villa Mexicana Creel Mountain Lodge

The staff were kind and helpful, and the Wi-Fi was excellent. I enjoyed my stay and wouldn't mind coming back, though I'd first consider places nearer the town center. These cabins are basic and a bit spartan, with few extras, but the quality seemed fair for the price. They're somewhat farther from town than places like The Lodge. I found quite a few hairs around the cabin, especially in the bathroom, which made me wonder a little about the cleaning. The curtains also let in a lot of morning sun; I wish they were made of thicker fabric.

I was looking hard for a campsite before arriving in Creel and couldn't find one. As a woman traveling alone without a vehicle, being able to camp matters, so I wanted to mention that this place has sites. I talked with the staff and looked around, but didn't stay because I found out too late and didn't have enough time. It looked like there were about five sites, for 150 MXN per person. The people are really nice, and the restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. The little store is nice too, and the place looks clean overall. My main issue is that the playground and cabin interiors need maintenance. Our coffee mug was broken, the bathroom could use some care, and some playground timbers were broken and looked like they'd been that way for a while.

A cozy, very clean cabin, with a great lounge, store, restaurant, and outdoor seating. Breakfast is free, and the location works well for visiting all the viewpoints.
