A local told us about this place, so we stopped by to check it out. We weren't hungry, but he talked us into trying what he called the best margaritas around. I had mango and my wife had lime. They were nothing special. The bill was 320 pesos, and they couldn't make change for my 500. He crossed the street, came back with $150 pesos, then turned away without offering the right change. He seemed annoyed that we paid cash. We'd considered coming back for a meal, but not after that.

The mole negro was probably the best I've had in Oaxaca. The tlayuda with tasajo was great too, and the tamales were amazing. We had a lovely woman looking after us, and the service was great. It's such a colorful, local place. Loved it!

Bring your own English. A local recommended this great restaurant, with wonderful food and a lovely hostess. Try the 4x4 shrimp platter. Two people had that with fresh guacamole and 7 Coronas. With the tip, it came to 1000 pesos.

The seafood was fresh and divine, and the margaritas were gorgeous and huge. It has an authentic dining atmosphere, with locals and tourists mixed together, tucked away off the beaten track. What really made it special was the thoughtful service. They were glad to have us, helped us through the language barrier, made suggestions and laughed along with us. The meal was epic. We'll be back.

We went because a taxi driver recommended it, assuming a local tip meant the food would be authentic and good. We were wrong. My chicken taco was cold and tasteless, and my husband's beef and pork quesadilla wasn't good either. I wouldn't recommend the place. Do your own research instead of trusting cab drivers.
