Hotel Cala Blanca Cuernavaca

We ate at the restaurant, which has a beautiful setting, professional service, nicely presented food that tasted good, and reasonable prices. There are large indoor tables and several covered outdoor areas overlooking the pool and gardens. I think it's a nice place for a meal. We also saw the rooms and bungalows. They're clean but dated and need refreshing or renovation before I'd consider staying. There's a lot of potential here.

The room was dirty, the service was awful, and there was a huge cockroach in our bed at night. The towels were covered in makeup and yellow stains. Absolutely filthy rooms, the worst hotel stay. It doesn't even deserve one star.

The pool was lovely, though cold, and our room was very spacious with a garden view. The hotel is quite close to downtown, and we could walk to the city centre in about an hour. I stayed here while visiting Cuernavaca for a wedding. The bathroom and main room had mold along the walls and ceiling, likely because the room had poor ventilation. I woke with slight respiratory irritation in my nose and throat. I do recommend the hotel, but be cautious about the mold.

We had to ask for shower gel and toilet paper for one of the rooms, and none of the three Wi-Fi connections I was given worked in any of the four rooms we used. Only a small spot in the dining room had a good signal. We were also asked to pay at check-in, which made me think that, given the poor service, they couldn't risk guests not paying the full bill. The service and attitude were shocking, and they seemed to think they owed me no refund at all. It will be very difficult for me to trust the positive reviews on this platform. Never again. The pool area had flowers that attracted bees, and I was stung. Flowers from a tree beside the pool were swept only once each morning, so by afternoon the area was covered in bees. My son accidentally swallowed pool water and fell ill minutes later, with a high temperature, throat infection, headache, and stiff neck. He was prescribed antibiotics to fight the infection. In the rooms, a water pump made a loud noise every 10 seconds, like having a drill in the room, so it was impossible to rest. I asked them to disconnect it and was told they'd stop it by 6pm. They left it on overnight, and on the other occasions I had to remind them to switch it off. They seemed annoyed. None of the rooms we used had working Wi-Fi, and one needed shower gel and toilet paper.
