We stayed from December 29, 2025, to January 1. The place was filthy and badly deteriorated, both generally and in our room. The light fitting was dirty and the bulb dim. Exposed wiring looked unsafe and unattractive. Furniture was dusty and dirty, while the linens and towels were so worn and stained that we went out and bought our own. The pool was unusable because of poor hygiene and maintenance. They didn't clean the room daily; after we insisted, they took out the trash once. On another day they cleaned only because a plumbing problem in another room flooded ours and damaged our luggage. There was no closet or clothes hangers. The walls and ceiling were peeling and very dirty. The balcony was overgrown with weeds, dirty, peeling, and under construction. The curtains were dirty and covered only about 70% of the window. The bathroom had a moldy ceiling, a badly placed sink on the shower wall, and no mirror. The plumbing's heating and cooling system was reversed, and its pipes ran externally rather than inside the wall. The room smelled bad and felt damp. The TV remote was worn out, and its buttons couldn't be identified. They advertise as a family-friendly hotel, but it operates like a brothel.

It cost $450, and as someone who travels frugally, I left my things there, came back to shower, and slept. At first I was scared because the place looked so run-down. It really is in poor shape and needs a major renovation, though it clearly used to be in very good condition. Time, humidity, and use have taken their toll. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you're spartan like me, it's fine for a night; if you need amenities, you'd be better off somewhere else.

They quoted me a room rate over the phone, then raised it when I arrived. At reception, when I first asked whether rooms were available, they bluntly said no. A phone call showed that rooms actually were available. It felt clearly discriminatory.

There’s no security, the only fan in the room didn’t work, and the terrace windows were covered in squashed mosquitoes. The towels were awful: one looked ripped in half, and the other smelled like dirty laundry even though it seemed clean. The bed springs were coming out, there were no hooks for clothes, and the rooms were horrible. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Terrible place and service. Don’t stay unless it’s your last option.

The hotel has a lovely Colombian country estate look, and the price is good. But it’s badly neglected and nothing like the photos. The pool and common areas were dirty, and the rooms weren’t cleaned or given fresh towels. Afternoon staff provided good service, but the morning shift was extremely dirty. For the same price, you can find somewhere similar that’s clean.
