Hotel El Castillo

Beautiful.

We picked this hotel because our first visit had left us impressed with the service and rooms. The second time was very unpleasant. When we arrived, the rooms were very dirty, so we reported it at reception right away. Staff helped clean the terrace, where the floor was extremely sticky, and a table. We cleaned the sink and dishes ourselves because they were covered in food scraps. The refrigerator and microwave were filthy, and there was even michelada trash. The receptionist said she had already told the staff responsible and her immediate supervisor. They have quite a few things to improve in both service and facilities.

The jacuzzi room was romantic and a nice place to relax and enjoy ourselves. The hotel is quiet, well located, and the reception staff are friendly. They don’t have a restaurant, though. I’d stayed there before, and this visit was better because the cleanliness has improved.

The indoor pool was always cold, so we weren’t keen on it. The hotel itself does the job, and it’s very affordable if you book directly. Websites like Expedia charge a lot for what is a very basic room.
