This review is just about the restaurant. It’s a beautiful, romantic, clean place, and the food was good, though not something I’d rave about. The tomato with goat cheese was great. The onion soup had lovely cheese but was a little runny. The lamb chops needed seasoning, while the vegetables and potato were great. The crème brûlée had a ranch dressing-like texture instead of a thick custard. There’s no drinks menu, and the bartender didn’t quite get the drinks right. They cost 120. We spent about 1700 for two soups, two entrees, two desserts, and two drinks. For French food, it wasn’t too expensive, but I’d expected more.

The atmosphere was beyond what I expected, and the food was delicious, with bold flavors and elegant finishes that made every dish an adventure. I’m speechless about the cooks at this restaurant. It reminded me of a five-star place. If you’re in Cuernavaca Mexico, I’d recommend experiencing it at least once. La Provence will be a regular stop whenever I visit Cuernavaca in the future.

We had a delicious cake and a French birthday song for my birthday, which was a lovely touch. It’s a great French restaurant, with excellent food, good service, and a picturesque setting. I’d have given it five stars, but the card reader wasn’t working and they gave us the wrong transfer code. We waited at least 30 minutes to pay, then had to come back and pay cash after the bank eventually notified us.

The menu seemed to cover the French classics. I ordered the Costillas de Cordero, which was very tasty but undercooked. It’s a lovely place that seems popular with high-end diners. I think there were six tables for four, overlooking a quiet garden. Every table was full, but the service was okay.

I knew Pascal, the chef and founder. The food is good and the service average, but on my visit yesterday I found it very expensive. 130 pesos for a Bacardi rum is a bit over the top.
