Hotel Posada San Agustin

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service was amazing. Plus, who doesn't love a hotel dog?

The old city setting made this a great base, with restaurants nearby and museums, the cathedral, and other historic sights all an easy walk away. I especially liked wandering through the lobby: it’s full of antiques, including a surprisingly varied collection of clocks. The building once served as a maternity hospital, which adds to its character. My room was a good size and had large windows. The staff were lovely and clearly wanted guests to have a memorable stay. I’d happily recommend it.

I came to Durango for one night feeling shaken after another dog had attacked mine the night before. When I told Hector what had happened, he quickly phoned around and found a vet who could come to my room to examine her. I felt safe and cared for, and that help went beyond what I expected. They allow dogs, too. Dinner was delicious, and the place covered my basic needs. There’s no fridge, but otherwise I was very happy here.

It’s pet friendly, which is a big plus. From here I could walk to el mercado, corredor constitución, plaza de armas, Teleferico Durango, and several churches. The staff were kind and ready to help with whatever I needed. I’d absolutely recommend staying here. Durango has plenty of lovely places to visit and things to learn about.
