Allegro Cozumel All Inclusive

I wouldn’t pick this place again. We found it pretty average, without many of the little touches that make an all-inclusive stay enjoyable. Food was the main letdown: the buffet had few choices and not much flavor, and oddly, no tacos, even though we were in Mexico. I know food at these resorts can be average, but this was worse than at others I’ve visited. The best meal of the trip was at Iguanas Restaurant across the street, which was excellent. Drinks were usually watered down too. Dinner choices were limited, with only one restaurant open each evening, and reservations were hard to get. The last slot, around 9pm, filled quickly. There were other small annoyances: the hot tub was barely warmer than the pool, the pools shut at 7pm, and the beach was closed at night. There were no hammocks or beach daybeds for daytime lounging. Evening entertainment was minimal and not very engaging. We were a group of 12 and, apart from the lobby couches, couldn’t find a good place for everyone to hang out together. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great.

The beach kept us coming back every day. The water was so clear that I felt grateful and amazed each time I went in. The sand was lovely, and the bottom stayed sandy as you entered, so we never needed water shoes or worried about stepping on anything dangerous. We even snorkeled there, and the kids never got bored. Itzel walked the beach serving drinks every day we were there, and she made sure everyone had one. We’d only booked our first stay at Allegro Resort for 9 days, bringing our kids, ages 7 and 8, and our parents. We were nervous after seeing negative reviews, but we LOVE IT!! The food has been the best we’ve had at any all-inclusive. The kids were happy with it, and so were we. We went to the Oriental a-la-carte twice and loved it. I don’t understand the complaints about the food. Maybe those reviewers are very picky, or usually unhappy with dining. Don’t let the bad food reviews put you off. Everyone on staff has been wonderful, kind, and personable, and some remembered our names. The bartenders, servers, groundsmen, housekeepers, cooks, entertainers, all of them have been 10/10. The rooms are pretty small, and there isn’t much in the way of dressers or shelves for unpacking and keeping things organized. It didn’t spoil our vacation, though. We didn’t upgrade, so I don’t know whether upgraded rooms have dressers to fix that minor issue. We’d absolutely stay here again. It’s been a perfect trip. One more thing, go to Alberto's, 3 min away, for the best night ever!! Bring your Advil and water bottle for the next day lol.

We’ve been bringing our big family back for 4 years because we love this smaller resort. The pricing is hard to beat, the staff are amazing, and the beach is perfect. It’s also in a great spot, about 30 min by taxi from the airport port. There’s a family friendly feel, with activities for all ages. Rooms are clean and have air conditioning, a ceiling fan, good closet space, and a balcony with a hammock. The grounds are pretty and well kept. For dinner there are three restaurants with reservations, plus buffets with a range of food.

I’ve stayed at a few resorts, and this one’s been the best of those. The place is really nice, with lovely, easy to get around grounds. Staff have been amazing. Diago and Arby from activities are great to talk to and get to know, Mara at the spa did a fantastic job, and Itzel was so nice by the ppol and never forgot a drink. You have to meet Henri, too. He makes the best banans foster and coffee flambe I’ve ever had. The food was great and the shows were amazing. There’s also a disco for dancing and drinks, open until 1:30. You can hear it from most rooms, so that could be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. Still, everything’s been fantastic for me and my family.
