Hotel Casa del Sol

The location was perfect for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, clothing stores, and the melicon. We were on vacation and needed another night after our first hotel was full, so we booked this place for Sunday at twice the price. The location and reviews made us think it would be worth it, but for that cost we expected more space, cleanliness, WiFi, and amenities. Our room was small, the only chair was badly stained, and the WiFi didn't work in our room. The hotel was noisy, and the water pressure was weak. We were also asked to move our vehicle, although we'd been told more than five hours earlier that we could park there. The manager heard us out the next day and said he'd make sure that staff member was better trained. We'd stay again if nowhere else was available. Thanks!

It's 10:25 PM and I'm stuck sitting on my bed, unable to enjoy the breeze on the couch outside my room, while loud music from the bars nearby keeps me awake. At this hotel, you have to be in your room by 10 PM. You're not allowed to sit outside it, even if you're quiet and aren't drinking or playing music. The guard and receptionist were very rude when they told me. The guard said I had to go to my room or out into the street if I wanted to be outside. That rule makes no sense when the bars around the hotel are playing loud music. I've never had this happen at another hotel, even in the US. This was my worst hotel experience in Ensenada. The customer service is horrible, and I'll never stay here again. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The lobby looks modern, and the place is clean and nice. Front desk staff were friendly and attentive, and the housekeepers worked hard and stayed on schedule. It's close to everything and a decent place to stay, though noise is a problem and it's not very quiet. Our group had two rooms, and neither shower drained well. They provide larger towels, but no washcloths, and there was no tissue in the room. Those aren't deal-breakers, just things they could improve.

I had to find another hotel after my reservation was cancelled for supposedly not paying upfront by 5 PM. Booking.com said guests could pay until 9 PM, and the hotel also wanted almost double the price I'd booked online with the pay later option. They wouldn't honor the Booking.com price or its stated terms. I was told they might be removed from Booking.com for false information and practices. These were horrible practices, and I've never had a hotel experience like this.
