Becquer Hotel Guadalajara

The suite with a jacuzzi tub was awesome, and the beds were super comfortable. The hotel is beautifully furnished with a very chic design, and the service was top notch. Breakfast was included, really good, and served in a beautiful rooftop space overlooking Guadalajara. Highly recommend it.

I’d skip this place next time I’m in Guadalajara. People calling it a four-star hotel must be seeing something I didn’t. I even suspect some of the reviews were bought. To me, it barely felt like a three-star stay, and that’s generous. At first the hotel looks clean and attractive, but it’s badly managed. Our shower had no soap, and we got just one coffee pod. The room phone wasn’t connected and had no cord, so when reception told us to contact room service for more coffee, there was no way to call. They did bring soap after we went down, at least. The room's electricity depends on the key, including the mini fridge, so food can spoil while you're out. They advertise breakfast as free, then try to charge you after you eat. The food was bad and the coffee tasted like burnt rubber. Staff were condescending when we raised these problems, as if they were normal.

Chavi had a great time here and would happily recommend a stay at Hotel Becquer. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and everyone was professional. Pets are welcome too.

The bellboy was super nice, which is why I'm giving two stars. The hotel itself was nicely decorated, and when I stayed three months ago, the service was really good. This visit was a bad experience. We booked a junior suite for two adults and two kids, with space for up to four, but the receptionist was rude and wouldn't accommodate our online reservation. There was no hot water, and they refused to give us extra towels after the shower overflowed. It seemed like having the kids was the issue at reception. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families.
