The room was spacious, which was the one nice thing here. Otherwise, it was a horrible stay. I'm used to the differences between U.S. and Mexican tourism and don't expect the same level of comfort in Mexico, but the hotel is old and our room was dirty when we checked in. The staff weren't very helpful either. Noise was a major problem. Loud music outside started around 4 a.m. for about 15 minutes, then started again at 6 and continued through the morning. Apparently there was a marathon on the street below. The location just isn't worth putting up with that. There was also construction all around the area, and some streets were very dark and unpleasant to walk along.

Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the staff really went out of their way for us. Our room was spacious and had a small balcony. It's a nice traditional Mexican hotel close to the cathedral.

We booked a Standard quality room; its table and desk were a little worn. The room was quiet, with excellent WiFi, and housekeeping did a great job. The hotel was clean and well kept, the pool was nice, and the location was excellent. Staff were friendly and competent. We didn't try the restaurant.

The rooms are older, but clean and welcoming. The concierge were very helpful, and the food was yummy. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Guadalajara.

If you like an antique-style hotel, this place might suit you. They were very nice when I arrived. The front desk told me booking through Expedia was cheaper, so I waited about 10 minutes while they updated my reservation.
