The staff were nice, but the place needs a lot of care. It’s run down, the dorm had a strange, unclean smell, and I could feel every spring in the mattress.

The prices are very reasonable, and Hostal Americana is quiet and clean. The young staff were so kind. If you’re travelling and need somewhere to rest, I recommend Hostel Americana. They offer private rooms as well as dorms for men and women.

There’s plenty of space here, with a kitchen guests can use, common areas, and Netflix. It’s in a quiet part of GDL, about a 10 minute walk from Av. Chapultépec with its bars, clubs, and restaurants. The staff are helpful and very nice, the atmosphere is cool, and the beds are comfy with lockers big enough for your things. At 117 pesos, it’s the cheapest place I could find. It had only been open a month when I stayed, so there’s room for improvement, though they’re working on it.

I couldn’t sleep well because guests kept buzzing the bells through the night. The door system needs changing. Upstairs there’s a sunny area, but it had cigarette butts around.

The hostel is nice, but Sergio is what makes it great. He brings such a good vibe that I ended up staying several extra days. Please pay him!
