La Vista Hotel

The hotel sits at the very top of the city, with amazing views. It can get gusty up there, but I thought the stay was worth it. Driving there is a little tricky, so using GPS on your phone is best. There’s parking onsite. Our room was clean and modest, and the staff were friendly.

We booked because of the picturesque views, but this place was disgusting and absolutely not worth them. The online photos showed a spacious, organized, clean room, and none of that matched what we found. The toilet was stained with feces all the way down to the floor. We asked reception to clean it, and the man there quickly dragged a soapy rag over it. The couch had red and brown stains, the table and chairs were dirty and stained, and the floor was covered in dirt. The bed looked cheaply made, with two bed posts put together to look like a king bed. The photos had nothing to do with the actual hotel, and we felt scammed. We left immediately for another hotel. We considered arguing for a refund, but after reading the reviews decided it wasn’t worth it. As we left, nobody asked why we were checking out early. We told the man the apartment was filthy, and all he said was, “yeah, okay.” The other staff, who I believe were the owners of the house/hotel, were very odd ladies and didn’t seem professional or good at customer service. When we arrived before check-in, they didn’t offer to store our luggage in their private room. Later, while leaving the room to get food, we noticed a strange man had given us the wrong key. When we told him, he gave us a weird, suspicious excuse. If I could give zero stars, I would. Don’t book here.

The view is great, and the place is nice for the price, but the location is a little hard to find. Google Maps helped us. Our room also didn’t have outlets in convenient spots. When we asked to leave our car in the hotel parking for two extra hours after checkout, they wouldn’t let us. We understand parking is limited, but they could have watched the car or parked it on the street if needed.

We paid 1,200.00 for a suite meant for two, and it was expensive and horrible: really dirty, with a tiny bathroom. The shower head didn’t work properly, and they only provide two bath towels, no washcloths or hand towels. Their website says breakfast is included, but that’s a lie because they don’t offer breakfast. There’s also a price list in the room for anything you damage or any stain on a towel or sheet.
