Hotel Del Sol

The accommodation was clean, pleasant, and functional. Check-out lost a star for the delay: I had to wait for staff to inspect the room before they returned my ridiculous 200 hundred peso deposit. The hotel needs automation, including a credit card deposit for incidentals. Rooms with two beds should come with more than one wafer of soap, one shampoo packet, and two towels. A mini bottle of water would be nice too.

The rooms are big and come with a microwave, small fridge, and little table. The place is clean, but old. The TV is tiny and most channels have bad reception, while the old A/C unit is louder than the TV at full volume. There were ants in the bathroom, free of charge.

They told me I could stay for a month at the rate I paid, then called me to the office just four days later and demanded another $196 to keep the room for the rest of the month. The staff lied to me. The cable TV was having problems too, so I left and went to San Carlos. WARNING, the staff there will lie to you!

For breakfast in Guaymas, this is a good cheap option. Hotel Suite el Sol is clean, and the food is tasty with medium to large portions. The restaurant is small and doesn't have many dishes to choose from.
