City Express Hermosillo Expo

We stayed one night in a double room, thankfully only for that long. The sheets and pillows had hairs and makeup smudges on arrival, there were hairs hanging from the shower curtain, and the toilet was dirty. The room lighting was also awful for doing makeup before our business event. Breakfast was plain, and the coffee gave all of us an upset stomach. We chose this place because it was close to the event, but I wish we’d stayed somewhere better and made the drive. A terrible experience. Do not recommend.

I didn’t feel comfortable here and won’t stay again. The hotel is right beside a horse and cattle arena, so we had to keep shooing flies away while eating breakfast. Only three people here were nice to us; the rest of the staff were unfriendly.

Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with more variety than a HIX, and they cook the food on site. Security is good too: you need to swipe your key card in the elevator, and it only works for your floor. There are 110v and USB power outlets. The room reminded me of a Holiday Inn Express in the US. The furnishings looked IKEA-like but were better quality, and the bed was comfortable. CNN was the only English-language TV channel. I stayed two nights, and neither time were hand towels or washcloths put in the bathroom. I think that’s their plan. A shout-out to Fernando, the night manager. While we waited for our ride, he held a spontaneous raffle for a hotel pen. Pretty original and fun.

The price and room impressed me. After a long drive, it was such a relief to find someone who could help in English, since my Spanish is shaky.
