Getting around was easy from here, with the beach, shops, food, and downtown all nearby. The customer service was excellent. The gym could be better, but there’s always the option of exercising outside. You can do laundry here too.

My wife was feeling sick, and we needed help with our trip that day. The manager refused and was rude about it. The service was so poor that I feel I have to say something, even though I don’t usually write reviews. I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Huatulco Maxico across from the Zócalo.

The rooms looked nice and seemed clean when I was shown around. But I didn’t end up staying because they only accepted cash. They offered a 100-peso discount as a “promotion” if I paid that way, and wouldn’t budge when I didn’t agree. I was booking three rooms, and they were willing to lose the customer. What touristy place doesn’t take cards or debit? Playa entrega is just steps away.

We’ve stayed at 22 hotels in Mexico without trouble, but this was the one bad experience. When we arrived, we found the pool was closed for renovations, even though we booked online through Expedia, which listed a pool. The hotel agreed to refund us and told Expedia, but it’s been over three weeks and they still haven’t issued it. I wouldn’t stay here again, even after the pool is finished. The customer service was the worst.
