Golden Paradise Hostel

There are private rooms, shared bathrooms and showers, plus a communal kitchen that helps keep costs down. The grounds are spacious, with plenty of hammocks beneath palm trees, and basic grocery stores are nearby on the main strip. It's about a 15-minute walk to the beach, and the staff were attentive and great. For the price, it's a good deal. Our room's roof did leak when it rained, though. But, well, it's Holbox, where water seems to get everywhere.

It's peaceful and really nice here, and the rooms are large. Some even have their own bathroom. There just weren't enough utensils, especially spoons.

We stayed for a week and a half and felt very comfortable. The place was cleaned every day, and both the rooms and bathrooms were clean and pleasant. The kitchen was roomy enough for several people and had everything we needed to cook. My favorite part was relaxing in the hammocks outside in the shade. The staff were all really friendly, and Alejandra was especially kind and helpful with information. She really is the heart of the hostel. Thanks for such a lovely stay, maybe we'll be back!

The outdoor garden and hammocks make for a nice main area, though it feels a little short on atmosphere. The kitchen has the basics, but cooking in there gets very hot. Rooms are roomy and have AC. We stayed for two days and found it a nice, inexpensive option if you want privacy and prefer doing your own thing. If you're hoping to meet people for a chat or a drink, I'd choose a hostel instead. You can rent bikes at reception, too.
