Marvin Suites

Marvin often has seafood grills in the afternoon. He just asks people to pick up a few ingredients and lend a hand. My wife, our three-month-old, and I stayed with him for 20 days and joined six of those feasts. They were easily better than any meals we had out, not even close. The place is small enough that you get to know the other guests. We met a bunch of great people during our stay, which probably wouldn’t have happened at a generic hotel where everyone keeps to themselves. Marvin, his wife, and the staff are some of the friendliest, most accommodating people you’ll meet. It’s family owned, and they genuinely care. The rooms are large, clean, and basic, and the spot is tucked a little way back in town, so it’s quiet. The main square and beach are still just an 8 minute walk away. What more do you need? If you book, try for room "Sur". It’s probably the best one. I can’t say enough good things about Marvin. Do yourself a favor, climb over Trumps dumbass wall and book at Marvin Suites. If you’re American, don’t go back home.

Everything is within walking distance, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. When my daughter got sick with a virus, Marvin found a doctor, got her medication, and brought her some fruit for her stomach. Hands down, the best customer service on the island.

We loved our clean, comfortable room, and Yesica, Marvin, and everyone else were exceptional. Yesica knew so much about the island and was incredibly helpful with information. We had planned to go fishing with Marvin, but the weather didn’t cooperate while we were there. We’ll definitely try next time. Can’t wait to return to Isla Holbox and Marvin Suites. We had special attention from Marvin, his daughter Vanessa, and the staff during our one-night stay. They were always around to help with every detail and made memories and adventures we’ll talk about for a while. One was getting stuck several times in puddles on the sandy streets in the golf cart, but we made it to see the bioluminescence on Coco Beach. Marvin was "Marvin"elous! His place has a quaint, adventurous feel and a unique local island atmosphere.
