Hotel Aurora

My room was bright and spacious, with both a fan and AC, and it was cleaned every day. The cleaning lady would come as soon as I left, so I never had to wait to get back in. The space is beautiful, with a lot of care put into the decor, and there's a lovely cat if you like animals. The host was nice, too. You can hear everything outside your door, which might be hard if you're a light sleeper. The shower only stays hot for 1-2 mins, then the water is just warm. The AC also switched off by itself at night, and nothing came of it when I asked for help. Still pretty happy, and I'll be back. Restaurants are just 30secs to 6 mins away on foot, the beach is 5 minutes away, and there's a fruit shop right outside.

This was our second stay at Hotel Aurora, and we'd happily return. It's quiet despite being central, a few minutes from the beach and main square and close to the port. The new supermarket just around the corner was handy, too. The room was huge, comfortable, and clean, with everything to cook or eat in: a fridge, stove top, lots of cookware and utensils, and a small dining table with 4 chairs. Towels were changed daily during cleaning, and laundry for 1 bag cost $250pesos and came back within a few hours. The air conditioner had an issue at first, but the team looked into it straight away and fixed it ASAP. It worked perfectly for our 6 night stay. The cat is very cute and friendly, too.

Tora the cat greeted us every time, so cute. I wish we'd stayed one more night. We got files with recommendations for restaurants, activities, and more, and everything we needed was within walking distance. The room was lovely, well equipped, and super clean. The hot water wasn't so hot after one shower. I asked the girl at reception to look into it, but she never got back to me.

The hotel is clean, well equipped, and the staff are nice. It's centrally located on a quiet street, but you still hear a lot because the rooms have practically no sound insulation. What upset me most was the boat tour I booked through the hotel. I paid much more than the usual island rate. When I asked why, the girl at reception said it was meant to be a “different” tour, but it wasn't. Tours are standard on such a small island, so I knew I'd find out. I felt misled and overcharged.
