Casa Iguana Holbox

We stayed nine great nights at Casa Iguanas. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and a nice shower. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is just feet away, and our upper-floor room looked over the pool. We also liked the hammock chairs on the balcony. We’d stay again, though the restaurant, Resto Bar, seems independent of the hotel and was bad. The service was awful, and neither the food nor drinks were good. I don’t want to leave Casa Iguanas a bad review for that since it isn’t their fault. Look up Resto Bar separately. We’d return and eat and drink elsewhere.

A lovely, welcoming hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms. We had a great time, and the beach is only a few steps away. There’s a private beach area with comfortable chairs, and the drinks at the beach bar were good. The bar staff were amazingly friendly and attentive too.

Free bikes made it easy to explore the island, and we liked being a little away from the busier spots. Town was still only about a five minute walk, either along the beach or by road. We stayed in 2021 after travel restrictions delayed our trip. The rooms were nice, the pool was decent, and it was a good place to unwind in the shade. The front desk team were especially helpful and accommodating. There was also a small kitchen with good breakfast choices and convenient lunch and snack options.

The staff were warm and helpful, and the location worked really well for us. We stayed six nights; our room had everything we needed and was kept clean, despite sand seeming to get everywhere.
