Hotel Villas Caracol

The beach in front of Hotel Villas Caracol is one of the nicest spots on the island, and the staff are lovely. I stayed here and at another premium hotel on the island, and this was by far the best accommodation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, surrounded by greenery. There aren't many rooms, so it's quiet but still has a bit of buzz. The front desk team were quick to reply and share information over WhatsApp. I wish I could have stayed longer and look forward to coming back.

It was peaceful and quiet here, with a nice beachside walk into town. The pool has a swim-up bar, and you can order food and drinks to your lounger. The restaurant was incredible, from breakfast through dinner, and the rooms were clean. Staff were amazing and friendly, and they helped arrange transfers and activities, all of which worked out brilliantly. There's a complimentary evening cocktail every night to enjoy while watching the sunset on the beach, which made the trip feel special. One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Huge thanks, Villas Caracol, we'll be back!

The staff and location were especially good, and the food was generally very good with a nicely varied menu. We did find it a little expensive. A couple of things weren't quite right: the cold water in our room wasn't cold, and the mattress felt too firm to us, though that's personal preference. We'd probably return in a few years.

Breakfast was included, and so was a cocktail to enjoy on the beach at sunset, which was lovely. The staff were so friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. Manuel was especially kind and did everything he could for us. We spent five days being well looked after and left feeling relaxed. We had fun without going far because we didn't need to. It was a really pleasant stay right on the beach in Holbox, and well worth it. Highly recommended, top notch.
