The receptionist was very polite, but the dirty lobby and trash around the grounds put me off. I’d arrived late in the afternoon looking for a room, and the clerk showed me one on the second floor of an elevated building. The stairs were narrow and had no handrails, with an open two-story drop on the left. Some boards had been put there, maybe to stop people falling. I touched them with my left hand and they immediately gave way and fell to the ground below. If I’d been leaning on them, I’d have fallen too. The clerk just said, “oh, they fell.” I left right away.

We had a nice stay there over New Year’s. We chose to overlook a few things, though it did feel like they weren’t quite ready to welcome guests.

It’s peaceful and quiet, unlike Acapulco. The rooms could be cleaner, and food service could improve too. It takes them far too long to bring a meal.

It’s a lovely place, even though it’s far from the city. It sits in the middle of the bucana, with the lagoon on one side and the Pacific Ocean beach on the other. It’s pet friendly and has a pool. You enter from Coyuca de Benítez.

The photos don’t match the actual place at all.
