After hearing from the manager, I want to amend this: thank you for refunding both nights of our stay instead of just one. The location shown on the website gave me the impression of a charming downtown area with restaurants, but it was a frightening neighborhood, beside a junkyard in an abandoned cement factory with rusted stairs. My family didn’t feel safe. I paid an extra $500 to leave and never heard back from the manager at the time. The hotel’s policy of keeping your money if you check out early made me think this wasn’t the first time it had happened. What a disappointment.

The decor in the rooms has lots of lovely detail, and there are many spots around this cute boutique hotel to walk or sit. I really enjoyed my stay. The shared kitchen on the third floor has breathtaking views, and the staff were kind and knew the area well when offering recommendations. It’s about a five-minute drive from Malecón.

The patio is small and charming, and the service was wonderful. Food came plated beautifully and fresh, and the drinks tasted good without being weak. Try the coconut shrimp, seafood-stuffed pepper, and guacamole.

The kind, attentive staff made our stay more comfortable and were genuinely helpful. The area is peaceful and quiet, right by the beach, which was a real highlight if you want to unwind. Still, the price felt high for what we got. Breakfast cost extra and turned out to be a very basic continental spread: mostly sugary pastries that weren’t gluten-free, yogurt, orange juice, water, and some fruit. With my gluten and dairy sensitivities, there were virtually no suitable choices, so it wasn’t worth the significant additional cost. We also struggled to sleep because dogs behind the rooms barked nonstop at night. The lot they were in looked like a junkyard. The hotel is pleasant to look at and well situated, but between the breakfast and the noise, it felt overpriced.
