The hotel looks very trendy and the design is beautiful, especially the room, with its stone details, lovely bathroom, and refined look. I really loved the room. But the service didn’t match the luxury image or the price, and once we looked beyond the aesthetics, the cracks showed. We were celebrating my 30th birthday, and my boyfriend had tried to arrange a few surprises with the hotel before we arrived. Communication was extremely poor: messages got misunderstood, help was minimal, and nobody made a real effort. At check-in, reception staff barely spoke English and rarely greeted us, which made everything feel cold. The lift was another letdown. There’s only one, and staff use it constantly too, so we kept sharing it with laundry carts, chefs, and people moving between restaurant areas. It really broke the sense of luxury. The room had an Alexa sound system, but the hotel hadn’t paid for Amazon Music, so we got ads or prompts to subscribe. At this price, that felt careless and cheap. Breakfast on the rooftop was disappointing too. The coffee from the automatic hotel machine was awful, especially for high-end prices. A hotel like this should have a proper coffee machine and barista. Good coffee is a basic expectation. The rooftop areas look lovely but are poorly managed. I assumed guests could use them anytime, but each space has to be booked and is also offered to outside guests. I don’t want to worry about reserving a pool spot while staying at the hotel. The pool was extremely cold and only usable in very specific weather, so those spaces weren’t used much. Service at the rooftop bar also fell short. The people greeting and seating guests weren’t good. In the mornings, a male staff member was constantly on his phone and barely acknowledged us. The woman on the sunset shift showed little interest, barely spoke English, and made no effort. The waiters, though, were fantastic. Special thanks to Ricardo and Juan, who gave genuinely excellent service. Unfortunately, they were the exception. Drinks were expensive and average. There’s no proper snack menu for sunset drinks, just the full dinner menu, which felt poorly thought out. Nothing we tried stood out, and La Paz has much better cocktail bars. The worst part was the minibar. We had a small bottle of red wine, around 250 ml, with no price listed on the menu. At checkout we were charged 950 pesos. With no clear pricing, that felt like an absolute rip-off. There was little to nothing luxurious about the experience beyond how it looked.

We ate at the upstairs restaurant during a wonderful two-night stay. The food was excellent, and the views were the cherry on top. There was a wait for the food, but the manager made us feel so welcome and gave us a masterclass in hospitality. Great manager! Five stars.

The confirmation was unreliable, and the staff were super rude. They sent us an incorrect offer, then never replied despite several emails and calls. When I called one last time for the updated offer, the receptionist just hung up. Luckily, we didn’t go. Unbelievable. Maybe they’d have been polite if they’d known we were planning a wedding and wanted to rent the whole space. Bad for them.

The room was great, with a great view, and the hosts were very friendly. The rooftop restaurant, though, was the problem. The portions are small, as people say, but that’s understandable for a “fancy spot.” Service was the real issue. We didn’t get any napkins, and the hot sauce I asked for arrived after I’d finished eating. The waiters seemed caught up in their own social time and ignored us. It felt strange, like we weren’t welcome or our presence bothered them. We travel a lot and visit themed restaurants across the country, but this was the strangest and most disappointing experience we’ve had.

We weren’t guests, but when we asked where to keep our heavy bags, the concierges kindly let us leave them in the lobby for a long time while we ran errands. The hotel’s inside and outside are really beautiful. I wish we’d stayed here.
