Courtyard by Marriott Leon at the Poliforum

The hotel is well placed for the Poliforum congress center, and it has all the amenities you'd expect apart from a swimming pool. The breakfast buffet isn't amazing, though there are excellent à la carte options. The restaurant area isn't especially fantastic or romantic, but it's a solid hotel overall.

The kitchen, waiters, and housekeepers were a great group, and they're the reason for my five stars. The food was delicious, and our waiters kept coming up with new dishes for us to try. One waiter already knew our drinks and food order when we came to be seated. I can't remember his name, but he was calm, patient, respectful, and polite. Our room was always clean, and the housekeepers were friendly. Reception was another story. I was there for 10 days and asked for laundry tokens and soap. They looked at me as if I were stealing from them. What was I going to do with the tokens? They could ease up a bit. The hotel couldn't accommodate one more night and didn't seem to care about trying. They said they expected more guests because of the fair. Reception wasn't very caring or friendly, and I guess I wasn't important enough to them.

The room was clean and comfortable, and my wife and kids loved that it had a bidet. They handled our requests quickly, and gave us a great late checkout until 2 p.m. I needed knee surgery, so when the parking garage elevator wasn't working, letting me park up top was a huge help. They weren't strict about masks, which made the stay more enjoyable for us. I'd stay here again. One thing to know: the outdoor pool isn't heated, which makes sense.

The friendly service was the best part, especially from the women at the front desk. They went out of their way with directions, tips on places to visit, and restaurant suggestions. I stayed five days on a business trip and loved it. The hotel is modern, clean, and well maintained. The restaurant is handy when you need to grab something to eat on the go. I'd highly recommend it, well worth the money.
