Cabañas Rusticas El Benny By Rotamundos

Benny is so kind, and the little garden is beautiful. The cabins are small but have everything you might need, including a refrigerator, toaster oven and burners. It’s central, about a ten-minute walk to the male on and beach, and less than a quarter mile from groceries, restaurants, shops and bars. My husband and I had fun dancing to energetic 70s music. We loved our time in Lareto!

Benny is an excellent host, and the garden around the cabanas is a peaceful place to unwind. The cabana had everything we needed. It’s only steps from the mission and plaza, and good value for your money in a town where everything is on the expensive side.

We stayed a night at each end of our Baja Divide bike ride. The host was very accommodating and kept our bike boxes for two weeks. The cabins are cute, clean, and efficient, with small kitchens, and the secure courtyard has an amazing garden and tables. It’s very close to the plaza. Totally recommend.

I couldn’t sleep well during our five nights here. Dogs barked all night, and the old, lumpy pillows didn’t help. The bathroom was tiny, made even tighter by an oversized toilet seat that slammed onto my back. Sewer gas came up through the shower drain, so we had to keep the door shut and window open. The mold smell was overwhelming and gave me a headache and congestion. The stairs to the main bedroom felt very dangerous, and the front door was so narrow I wasn’t comfortable in the space, even though I’m not a large person. Agoda wouldn’t let me cancel after I arrived. I don’t recommend this place at all.
