Hotel Angra

I haven’t found a better Loreto hotel yet for the price, convenience, and quality of the accommodations. The rooms are pristine and the staff are great. Having locked parking is a big plus on Loreto’s busy streets. It’s a few blocks from the main drag, but still an easy walk. I walked alone at night and in the morning, and the location encouraged me to try local places, including the taco stand just down the street. Pet friendly is another plus.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The description doesn’t quite match reality: the patio is just the walkway in front of the building, and the enclosed courtyard is a gravel parking lot that also serves as the dog walking area. They have two territorial dogs that wouldn’t let us come and go, let alone walk or sit outside with my dog.

We’ll stay here again as we travel through twice a year. The staff were lovely, friendly, and always accommodating. It’s the cleanest and best hotel we’ve stayed at anywhere in the Baja. The place is gated and feels very secure, with a large area inside the parking lot where pets can relieve themselves. Pets are welcome. There’s free drinking water from a cooler and good coffee in reception in the mornings. The king size bed and hot shower were great, and we could easily stay for longer visits.

This is my new go-to in Loreto. It’s spotless, well maintained, and in a great location, with a lovely person at the front desk. Other hotels I’ve stayed at were worn out or unclean. This one is perfect.
